| RECORDING STUDIO
We at Rainleaf Flooring are delighted by the completion of our latest floor. Our client chose the 24 cm single smoked white oil oak plank for 325 sqmts of her new recording studio. The floor was laid to the central area leading to the kitchen, then into the raised bedroom area. The kitchen, general wash room and utility areas also had the our Oak flooring.
The living and recording space in London is on the first floor. To add sound proofing to the clients below the floor was installed on Sika's
5 mm sound quilt and T2 gun adhesive. Onced laid the floor was protected from other trades by covering in 300 micron card. On completion of all decoration work we re oiled the entire floor.
Whilst we never divulge our clients details, we are certain that you've been listening to her latest No 1 album.

THE DINING ROOM
The client had the basis of the design she wanted. We took those ideas and transformed them into the floor she now has. We have a centre cross in Oak with Panga center. The quadrants are at opposite 45 degree angles. The border is again in Panga with infill of Oak. The perimeter border is in 2 strip Oak with single strip Panga.
To set this floor out we simply positioned the table, sat in each chair so that when all guests were at the table they were within the Panga border.
The floor was a pre finished engineered strip floor.

ESSEX HALL
This project already had an Iroko block floor to the main hall. A small cloak room to one side of the hall was removed and the floor area replaced to look as if it was always there. Existing blocks were salvaged and reused from other parts of the home. A refurbished dining area then received a new floor to match the existing. This comprised of 12mm ply underlayment an 6mm Iroko overlay. All floors were finely sanded and received a 3 coat hard wax oil finish.
A further floor in the Hall was renovated a year later.

DIFFERENT DINING
This particular client had a very well worn oak block floor. Basically a square room, we laid a distressed Oak plank floor in a very different pattern to how you would usually lay the floor. The effect was stunning. The floor is now very much both a focal and a talking point as our clients and their friends sit down to dinner in the dining room of their 18th century cottage.

CHURCH OF THE EMMANUEL
This was an interesting project. An existing pine block floor that had 'blown' in a particular way. This rendered the floor unsafe to use. The reason for the problem was that 4 steel beams had rusted and blown, pushing up the concrete sub floor. Damp had penetrated the sub floor causing many years of rusting to the steel beams. This in turn had resulted in a series of speed bump effects across the block floor.
The damp problems were rectified by a specialist contractor.
We then removed all the defective screed and replaced it with a suitable latex compound. Reclaimed pine blocks were sourced from a neighbouring Church. These were installed to continue the Herringbone pattern.
The entire floor was then sanded back to a wonderful smooth surface and received 3 coats of Bona Traffic lacquer.
The Church is now, once again, used by all in the local community.

17th CENTURY DORSET HOME
Working closely with our client and their Interior Design team we supplied and installed our engineered 24cm wide Smoked White Oiled distressed floor. We fitted to the main bedroom, landing and main bathroom, and on the ground floor to the lounge and kitchen areas.
This stunning property had an amazing beamed ceiling and central chimney winding its way through the centre of the main bedroom.
We created a feature wall in the flooring material that formed an open shower area to the main bedroom. All the planks had mitred ends and were capped with a solid top.
This install was about 160sqmts and was the second property we have completed for our client. The first being their main London residence that totalled 380sqmts.

SUFFOLK HOME
As with all our floors, we are very proud of this install. The project was for nearly 400sqmts to main bedroom and open bath area, gallery landing, 2nd, 3rd and 4th bedrooms and main bathroom.
The client added to the project a 16m suspended landing and 32 tread double staircase. The flooring to the landing and staircase were made from a doubled sided board so as to be visible from below.
The main bedroom was a stick down installation over underfloor heating. The remaining bedrooms were installed using Elastilon.
We used both 24cm and 18cm engineered boards in our double smoked colour pre finished in hard wax oil.

TUDOR IN LONDON
Probably our most favourite floor to date. Our client found us at the Grand Designs Show after 2 years of searching. We were displaying a range of unique Tudor floors. These boards are burnt, brushed and bleached to varying degrees. The colours are intense and the boards have immense feeling and character.
We installed a total of 42sqmts throughout the home. The mix of aged flooring together with contemporary and art deco features make this an absolutely stand alone property. The deep grey floor to the cinema and office areas, our sun bleached and burnt boards in 24cm wide to the remainder of the home. Our client is solely responsible for bringing this project together. She is an amazing lady with wonderful vision. It was an absolute pleasure working for her and her family.

DULWICH ALL SAINTS CHURCH
Our largest project to date and our first for Thomas ford and Partners.
We specified both plank and finish. We supplied and installed nearly 900 sqmts of 18 cm engineered American Oak in a select grade. Finished in Bona Traffic 3 coat lacquer.
The project involved the installing of a cradle batten system to the both Nave and Crypt areas. The under floor heating was installed by specialists. We undertook all battening works, sand screed infill to underside of flooring, laying of all flooring and all sanding and finishing works.
The floor is a hallmark project for us. There are many areas of fine detail work, all of which were completed to an exact standard in very difficult contracting conditions. This project is an example of the pride and passion we have in all that we do.
