BERTI
Berti are a company of true Italian Artisans in the medium of
wood flooring.
The family and the work force are inspirational designers and thinkers
of things relating to wood flooring. It was a natural progression
for Rainleaf to become the UK
partner for Berti Pavimenti.
To understand the philosophy that is Berti we need to examine the
history, from this history of the company we understand the full
measure of Berti Pavimenti
History
1910, Mr Cesare Berti is born in
Ville del Conte in the province of Padua. Aged 12 Cesare became
an apprentice carpenter. 1929 and now aged 19 he began his own small
carpentry workshop.
By 1950 and now successful, he undertook expansion to larger workshops
with a focus on the timber trade and the purchase of a saw mill.
In 1958 Cesare established IN.PAR. Industria Parchetti, a company
specialising in wood flooring
Enter the next generation. 1971 sees sons Giancarlo and Silvio Berti
establish P.B Parchettificio Berti. Computerised production lines
are introduced to the factory, a world first.
1980 and Berti develop many of the geometric patterns they are now
so famous for. Inspiration for many of these patterns is taken from
the magnificent antique mansion houses and villas from the Veneto
region.
1992, further innovation from Berti; Laser inlay technology is introduced
to the Villa del Conte operation. Works of incredible complexity,
precision and prestige are created. Windsor Castle and The Kremlin
Palace become Berti clients.
2005 and the first sod of turf is dug as work begins on a new industrial
complex and plant. Life as Berti Pavimenti Legno Group begins.

Berti and the Environment
Berti Pavimenti lead the world in the manufacture and continued
development of engineered wood flooring. Consequently Berti uses
vast quantities of Birch ply.
Why Birch ply? Well it is because of the inherent stability of Birch
and quite frankly it is the best quality base board made today.
Berti ensures that it uses only Birch from suppliers with PEFC accreditation.
This translates to the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification
schemes. PEFC is a not for profit organisation of the Pan- European
Forest Certification Council.
Through success comes the weight of responsibility to act in a manner
that sets the standard in looking after our planet. Berti continue
to exceed its obligations and set new standards with regard to the
welfare of planet Earth.
